.HEIC file type format
Although .heic format is a newer emerging format, it is commonplace in the Apple ecosystem. Often time people filling out forms in Optimize will be Apple users and will need to upload photos in specific custom forms. Not accepting this file type will throw errors in workflows. https://www.civicengageevolve.civicplus.help/hc/en-us/articles/26110371222807-Supported-File-Types-for-Upload Below is a list of file types that are currently being supported that should or could be removed. .art – AOL compressed image format; obsolete. .blp (not listed but sometimes confused) – Blizzard texture files; niche use. .cgm – Computer Graphics Metafile; rarely used outside of legacy CAD/technical systems. .dib – Device Independent Bitmap; old Windows format, mostly replaced by .bmp or .png. .drw – Generic drawing files used by early software like CorelDRAW; obsolete. .emf/.wmf – Enhanced/Windows Metafile; Windows vector formats, mostly obsolete except for specific legacy use. .emz – Compressed EMF; rarely used today. .fli/.flc – Autodesk Animator formats; no longer used outside of retro/animation archiving. .fpx – FlashPix, an old Kodak/Microsoft format; obsolete. .hdp/.wdp/.jxr – Windows HD Photo, precursor to JPEG XR; never widely adopted. .icns – macOS icon format; still used by macOS internally but not widely otherwise. .jbf – Paint Shop Pro image browser cache; not an image format per se. .mix – Microsoft Picture It! format; discontinued. .mng – Multiple-image Network Graphics; intended to replace GIF but never caught on. .pct/.pict – Mac PICT format; obsolete. .pcx – Early format for DOS Paintbrush; rarely used now. .pgf – Progressive Graphics Format; niche use, never widely adopted. .pdd – Photoshop Deluxe file; discontinued. .psp/.pspimage – Corel Paint Shop Pro formats; still used by some, but very niche. .rp – Could refer to RealPix (RealPlayer); obsolete streaming image format. .tga – Targa format, used in early video games; now rare. .wbmp – Wireless Bitmap used in WAP browsers; obsolete with the end of WAP. .xif – eXtended Image Format (Xerox); obsolete.
